Born in Paris in 1929, son of the Judeo-Polish artist Maurice Mendjizky (1890-1951) from the School of Paris, Serge Mendjisky is an extraordinary character-artist who embraced all artistic fields by renewing them with audacity and originality.

He was the youngest resistant in France during the Second World War, who narrowly escaped deportation and he is the artist who celebrates like no other the beauty of life thanks to a perceptive eye and a sensitive heart, always ready to succumb to happiness, to tears and to the fury of living.

Look at his paintings ! They are all an invitation to escape, enchantment and exaltation.

It's impossible to come out unscathed from this contemplation. To confront it is like to be initiated to the sensitivity of the beautiful, the evanescent, the fragile ; this little thing called "existence" which can be so fascinating if we know how to appreciate it to its full extent, as Serge Mendjisky has done. Thanks to his talent, his boldness and his adventurous character, Serge Mendjisky has been able to reveal, from his first paintings in the 1950's until the last, at the end of the 2010's, the unfathomable power of Carpe diem.
