The Warnod family, from Montmartre to Montparnasse

From December 20, 2024 to May 20, 2025

New Art Place

Jeanine Warnod, born in 1921, evokes in a series of interviews illustrated with drawings by her father and personal archives, the artists and poets, from Montmartre to Montparnasse, that they knew, such as Picasso, Chagall, Zadkine, Léger, Dorignac, Pascin, Apollinaire, Max Jacob, André Salmon, Carco, Mac Orlan, Dorgelès, with the anecdotes and the places they frequented, the Lapin Agile, the Bateau-Lavoir, the Ruche. Her father, André Warnod, a designer, art critic and writer from old Montmartre, created the name "École de Paris" in 1925 to designate the artists who came from abroad to Paris at the beginning of the 20th century and revolutionized the history of art.
