Courage, Will, Life : Life after the Holocaust

From January 2, 2025 to June 30, 2025

New Art Place

This moving exhibition immerses you in the heart of the story of thirty-five Holocaust survivors, through the paintings of Alain Husson-Dumoutier, UNESCO Artist for Peace. Each painting reflects a testimony, an imprint of memory captured by the painter's brush after his meetings with these survivors, who confided their poignant stories to him, marked by the Second World War and its aftermath.

First exhibited at UNESCO headquarters in 2014, then at the UN headquarters in Geneva in 2016, this masterful and lengthy work had until now only been accessible to the staff of these institutions. But in this year of commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, these paintings are finally revealed to the general public. From January 25 to April 26, 2025, the Louviers Museum is hosting this unique exhibition, offering a unique opportunity to discover these testimonies in painting. In addition, for those who cannot attend, an online presentation is available exclusively on the New Art Place website.
